So, I had the alarm set for 5:40am so I would be able to have a good breakfast and make sure that I had everything in order before leaving the house at 7 so I could beat traffic and make it to campus in time for my 8am Child, Adolescent, and Adult Health class.
This class is located in Bellmont Hall, which is located at heaven for all Longhorn football fans, DKR Memorial Stadium. After parking at the Sigma Chi house, because it's free and they said I could, I walked across campus in the cold and drizzle and took the elevator up to the 9th floor and was greeted this way:
If I have that to look forward to every Tuesday and Thursday, then I'll be nice and fired up every time I enter this class.
The class is small and I couldn't be happier, maybe 50 students. My initial thought when walking in, though, was that there was a possibility that I am older than my professor, who oddly resembles Erin from The Office:
I did find out through context clues that she is, in fact older than me, but in my estimation there is still probably 2 years between us which saves my sanity some considering that she's a doctor.
This class seems like it will be a wonderful class in multiple areas.
1) With it being a small class, it will allow for more interaction with the professor and the other students in class. Considering that all of my friends from my first swim through here are old like me and, in most cases, really far from campus, the opportunity to make some new friends will be nice.
2) It also seems to be a class that's based in a lot of fundamental life areas regarding full health.
D) It also seems to be a class in which discussion will be prevalent and most of you know I love a good discussion.
Class ended on time and luckily for me, my next class is on the 3rd floor of the same building so I wandered down the stairs and got a seat for Motor Learning.
This class seems like it will be tough, but in a great way. There will be lots of information but I really enjoyed the professor. He's very excitable and excited about this subject which will make it enjoyable for me. 11 years ago, though, that would not have been the case. I would have been pissed at his enthusiasm first thing in the morning.
The other fun part about this class is that it is located right above the Longhorn Hall of Honor so I strolled through that, as probably will every time I'm there. It's amazing. Here are a few shots from that land of awesome!
I head to my last class here in about 30 minutes and am excited for that as well.
Other things I've done today:
Rented a locker for the semester at Gregory gym since I will have at least an hour and a half off between my second and third classes.
Set up my wifi access on campus.
Found where the bathrooms are closest to my classrooms. It's one of the perils of drinking a lot of water.
Hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday as much as I am.
